Terms and Conditions for Addey Event & Party Equipment Rental Marketplace

Effective Date: October 17, 2026

Welcome to Addey Event & Party Equipment Rental Marketplace (“Addey,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). Addey is an online marketplace that connects customers with providers offering event and party equipment rentals, including tents, chairs, tables, stages, lighting, sound systems, decorations, catering equipment, and related event services.

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Addey website, mobile applications, and related services. By accessing the platform, creating an account, placing a rental order, or offering rental equipment through Addey, you agree to these terms.

1. Definitions

2. Platform Services

Addey provides a digital marketplace where customers can discover equipment, compare rental options, check availability, request or place bookings, make payments, and coordinate event-related logistics.

Providers are responsible for maintaining accurate listings, supplying the agreed equipment, and fulfilling their rental obligations.

Unless expressly stated otherwise in a separate written agreement, Addey acts as a marketplace intermediary and does not itself own or supply equipment listed by independent providers. The identity of the contracting rental provider and the applicable rental terms should be disclosed during the booking process.

Addey does not guarantee that every listing, provider, item, or requested date will be available.

3. Account Registration and Eligibility

Users must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account or placing an order.

Customers and providers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for activities performed through their accounts.

Users must notify Addey promptly if they suspect unauthorized access or fraudulent account activity.

Addey may request identity, business, contact, or other verification information where reasonably necessary for marketplace safety, fraud prevention, payment processing, or legal compliance.

Users must meet the minimum legal age and any other eligibility requirements applicable to their transactions.

4. Equipment Listings and Availability

Providers must ensure that their listings accurately describe the equipment offered, including, where applicable:

Customers are responsible for reviewing the listing and order details before confirming a booking.

A booking is considered confirmed when the platform or provider communicates confirmation in accordance with the applicable booking process. A booking request alone does not guarantee availability.

5. Rental Orders and Rental Periods

Customers must select the correct equipment, quantities, rental dates, delivery or collection options, and event location when placing an order.

The rental period begins and ends according to the dates and times specified in the confirmed order.

Customers must use the equipment only for its intended purpose and in accordance with applicable safety instructions.

Customers may not sub-rent, sell, transfer, modify, or use rented equipment unlawfully without the provider's authorization.

Requests to extend a rental period must be approved by the provider and may incur additional charges. Extensions are subject to availability.

Customers must return or make equipment available for collection at the agreed time and location.

6. Pricing, Payments, and Fees

All applicable charges should be displayed or communicated before a customer confirms an order. Charges may include:

Customers agree to pay the amounts shown in their confirmed orders using the payment methods supported by Addey.

Addey may facilitate payments, collect amounts on behalf of providers, deduct disclosed commissions or fees, and arrange provider settlements in accordance with applicable platform policies.

Payment confirmation, settlement timing, and transaction records are subject to the applicable payment provider's processing procedures.

Users must not manipulate transactions, submit fraudulent payment information, or attempt to bypass legitimate platform charges.

7. Security Deposits

A security deposit may be required for certain equipment or orders. The deposit amount and applicable conditions must be communicated before booking confirmation.

A security deposit may be applied, to the extent permitted by applicable law and the agreed rental terms, toward documented and attributable costs arising from:

Providers should document relevant damage, missing items, or other claimed deductions with appropriate evidence.

Ordinary wear and tear must be distinguished from damage attributable to the customer.

Any undisputed remaining deposit must be refunded in accordance with the disclosed deposit policy and applicable law. Disputed deductions should be handled through the applicable complaint or dispute-resolution process.

Addey may facilitate deposit collection, refunds, or deductions where supported by its payment arrangements and platform policies.

8. Delivery, Setup, and Collection

Delivery, setup, installation, dismantling, and collection responsibilities must be specified in the confirmed order.

Customers must provide accurate delivery addresses, access instructions, contact information, and reasonable access to the event location.

Providers must make reasonable efforts to deliver the agreed equipment within the confirmed schedule and must communicate material delays or delivery problems promptly.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the event site is suitable and accessible for the equipment, including adequate space and any necessary permissions.

Additional charges for waiting time, difficult access, rescheduling, or special handling may apply only where disclosed or otherwise lawfully agreed.

Responsibility for equipment during transport, delivery, installation, use, and collection will be determined by the confirmed order, applicable provider terms, and applicable law.

9. Inspection, Equipment Condition, and Safety

Customers should inspect rented equipment upon delivery or collection and promptly report missing items, defects, damage, or discrepancies.

Providers must supply equipment that substantially matches the confirmed order and is reasonably fit for its intended rental purpose, subject to the disclosed condition of the item and applicable law.

Customers must follow reasonable operating instructions and safety precautions. Equipment must not be used in a manner that creates an unreasonable risk to people or property.

Customers must not attempt repairs, alterations, or modifications without authorization, except for actions reasonably necessary to address an immediate safety risk.

Any pre-existing damage or equipment defect should be documented where reasonably possible.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Refunds

Cancellation and rescheduling conditions should be disclosed before a customer confirms a booking.

Depending on the order and applicable policy, charges may reflect reasonable and disclosed costs already incurred, preparation, delivery, or other agreed cancellation conditions, subject to applicable consumer-protection laws.

Customers should submit cancellation or rescheduling requests through the platform or the designated provider communication channel.

Refund eligibility and timing depend on the reason for cancellation, the applicable policy, the services already performed, and the payment method.

If a provider cannot supply confirmed equipment, Addey or the provider should communicate the issue promptly and arrange an appropriate remedy, which may include a refund, rescheduling, or an agreed alternative.

Where an order is canceled because of provider non-fulfillment, customers should not be charged for equipment or services that were not supplied, subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the transaction.

Approved refunds will be processed through the relevant payment method or another agreed lawful method.

11. Late Returns, Loss, and Damage

Customers must return equipment on time and in the condition required by the confirmed order, allowing for reasonable ordinary wear and tear.

Late returns may result in additional rental charges if the applicable rate and conditions were disclosed or otherwise lawfully agreed before booking.

Customers must promptly report lost, stolen, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment and cooperate reasonably with the provider in investigating the incident.

Responsibility for damage, loss, or theft will depend on the circumstances, the agreed rental terms, applicable evidence, and applicable law. Customers will not automatically be liable for every incident merely because equipment was rented to them.

Any damage or loss charge must have a reasonable basis, be supported by appropriate evidence where practicable, and comply with applicable law. Addey may facilitate the resolution of disputes but does not guarantee a particular outcome.

12. Provider Responsibilities

Providers using Addey agree to:

Addey may review listings, request verification, restrict inventory, suspend listings, or take other reasonable measures to protect customers and the integrity of the marketplace.

13. Customer Responsibilities and Prohibited Conduct

Customers agree to:

Users must not use Addey to list stolen goods, misrepresent equipment, evade payment, manipulate reviews, or engage in prohibited or unlawful transactions.

14. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

Customers and providers should first attempt to resolve booking, delivery, equipment-condition, deposit, refund, and payment disputes directly and in good faith.

If the issue remains unresolved, either party may contact Addey through the designated support channel and provide relevant order details and supporting evidence.

Addey may review available information, request additional documentation, facilitate communication, and apply its platform policies within its authority.

Addey's involvement does not necessarily make it the supplier of the equipment or the legal decision-maker in disputes between independent customers and providers. Users retain any rights available to them under applicable law.

Nothing in this section prevents a user from contacting a competent regulatory authority or seeking legal remedies.

15. Intellectual Property

The Addey name, branding, logos, website design, software, and platform content are owned by or licensed to their respective rights holders and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Users may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit protected Addey materials without authorization, except as permitted by law.

Providers retain ownership of their own content and grant Addey the permissions reasonably necessary to display, promote, and operate their listings through the marketplace, subject to applicable agreements and law.

Users must not upload content that infringes another person's rights.

16. Privacy and Personal Information

Addey may collect and process personal information needed to operate accounts, manage bookings, facilitate payments, coordinate delivery, provide customer support, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with Addey's Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection laws.

Users should review the Privacy Policy to understand what information is collected, how it is used, and what rights may apply.

17. Suspension and Termination

Addey may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account or listing where reasonably necessary because of fraud, serious misconduct, safety concerns, unlawful activity, repeated non-fulfillment, non-payment, or violations of these terms or applicable platform policies.

Where appropriate and legally required, Addey will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.

Users may stop using the platform and may request account closure in accordance with Addey's account procedures. Closing an account does not remove obligations arising from existing orders, outstanding payments, disputes, or applicable record-retention requirements.

Any account suspension or termination remains subject to applicable law and any rights users cannot lawfully waive.

18. Platform Availability and Limitation of Liability

Addey will make reasonable efforts to keep the platform available and functioning, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed. Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, technical issues, network failures, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Addey is not responsible for losses caused solely by circumstances outside its reasonable control or by the independent conduct of a customer or provider.

Addey is not automatically responsible for a provider's failure to deliver equipment, a customer's misuse of equipment, or disputes between marketplace users solely because a transaction was arranged through the platform.

However, nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, negligence, or other liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law. Nothing in these terms removes any mandatory consumer rights or remedies.

19. Force Majeure

A party may be excused from or receive an appropriate adjustment to affected obligations to the extent permitted by law when performance is prevented by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, such as natural disasters, severe weather, government restrictions, public emergencies, or major transport disruptions.

The affected party should notify the other relevant parties promptly and take reasonable steps to reduce the impact.

Any cancellation, refund, or rescheduling resulting from such circumstances will be handled under the applicable order terms and law.

20. Changes to These Terms

Addey may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes in its services, platform features, operational requirements, or applicable law.

Material changes will be communicated through reasonable means where appropriate or legally required. The updated terms will identify their effective date.

Changes will not retroactively remove rights or obligations where doing so would violate applicable law. Continued use of the platform after revised terms become effective constitutes acceptance where such acceptance is legally valid.

21. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, to the extent applicable to Addey's operations and the relevant transaction.

Disputes shall be handled by the competent courts or other dispute-resolution bodies in Ethiopia, subject to applicable jurisdictional rules and mandatory consumer-protection rights.

This clause should be reviewed by qualified Ethiopian legal counsel before publication, particularly if Addey operates in other jurisdictions or serves cross-border transactions.
